HIGH DESERT TRAILS RALLY TO RUN FEBRUARY, 21st IN CALIFORNIA!

Rally competitors, husband and wife team of Kristopher & Christine Marciniak, would like to introduce a new regional rally to the calendar for 2009. The High Desert Trails Rally will be a low key, affordable event. The rally will be held in Ridgecrest, California on February 21st 2009.

Planning on attending the CRS Rally School? This event will be a great place to practice your driving, note calling, and newly acquired rally skills. Plus, we’ll be giving those drivers, co-drivers, and riders a discount for completing this year’s school! We’ll have a single pass caravan reconnaissance you can do in your rally vehicle, along with organizer supplied stage notes! An open service is planned after each stage to give you plenty of time to get your machine back on the course.

Held just outside of town at the Ridgecrest motorsports park, the course is a 6 mile loop that has it all: fast and flowing sections, tight and technical, smooth and sandy. All freshly graded and ready to run. The day will be a compact rally split into two coefficient one events. It will be open to all vehicles meeting NASA RallySport requirements, including RallyMoto bikes!

California Rally Series announces Rallymoto(tm) Championship for 2009

The California Rally Series (CRS) Board of Governors (BOG) is pleased to announce the addition of a new championship series to the CRS competition schedule for 2009. The CRS Moto Championship will include all CRS events that have a NASA RallyMoto^TM competition or its equivalent, and will utilize the same system for weighting events, awarding points, dropping events and resolving ties as does the CRS Rally Championship. Competitors must be CRS members prior to a given event to earn CRS Moto Championship points at that event.

CRS Moto will recognize two championship classes:
·”Moto U8″ for bikes with displacements less than 800cc ( NASA 2008 Prod 2 and Super Prod 2 classes)

·”Moto O8″ for bikes with displacements of 800cc or more (NASA 2008 Prod 1 and Super Prod 1 classes)

A CRS Moto Liaison Officer has been added to the CRS BOG, to be the point of contact for CRS Moto. Doug Nagy has agreed to be the CRS Moto Liaison for 2009. So far the following events have indicated that they will be part of the 2009 CRS Moto Championship:

·North Nevada Rally (one coefficient 3 event)

·Idaho Rally (one coefficient 2 event and one coefficient 3 event)

·Gorman Rally (one coefficient 3 event)

·Prescott Rally (one coefficient 2 event and one coefficient 3 event)
